- All food donations have been guaranteed by the donor.
- We do not accept expired food.
- We do not distribute food that may have become damaged during storage.

Online Matching System

Donors use our online matching platform to list available products. Organizations then place an order and the item is directly shipped to your organization. However, there are restrictions placed by the donor and this system is currently only in Japanese.
Web-based Information Management

This system manages various information related to food donations. The system can be accessed from your PC or smartphone. Currently only available in Japanese.

Process to receive food

Fill out the application form (English is OK)
2Meeting and
coordination

After reviewing your application we will set up a meeting to better understand your organization.
3Registration
procedures

After the interview we will complete the registration process. You will exchange a written agreement with Second Harvest Japan that spells out the basic obligations and procedures.
4Set up date
to pick up food

You are now ready to receive food for your organization

Eligibility Check

Following are examples of activities which are eligible and ineligible to receive food donations.

Eligible activities

As snacks and refreshments provided in learning support programs for needy households
As foodstuffs to be used in facilities such as children's homes and self-reliance support homes
In programs for those who have left children's homes and self-reliance support facilities
To be distributed individuals and households in need.

Ineligible activities

When targeting members of the general public
When used for awareness-raising activities
When used as a commercial product for a business or distributed for a fee
When traceability and food quality control are not ensured etc.
