Kousaku Shibata, Trustee
Kosaku is Second Harvest Japan’s original driver. As one of 2HJ’s most active members, he picks up and delivers food several times a week with his wife, Seisei. Kosaku acts as our liaison with agencies and organizations, arranging for deliveries in Kanto, Nagoya, and Kansai.
Ruby Sakuma, Trustee
Ruby is in charge of our Harvest Pantry program which sends out food packages to some 70 households and distributes food at our office to over 50 households each month.
Reverend Toshimasa Yamamoto, Trustee
Reverend Yamamoto is Second Harvest Japan’s link to Japanese churches. He is also a professor and chaplain of Kansei Gakuin University in Kobe.
Huntley Nicholas, Trustee
Huntley has been with Second Harvest Japan since its early days. He contributes his time in helping to manage the warehouse, has handled and organized countless tons of food, and is always there for the organization in a pinch. Huntley also uses his professional skills to advise on 2HJ’s newsletter and website content.
John Bayles, Trustee
Founder/owner of Alishan Organic Center/Tengu Natural Foods, John has long provided valuable guidance to Second Harvest Japan based on his own experience and knowledge as a food importer and distributor. John sets an example for other companies by allowing his customers to “share the goodness” by donating to 2HJ while they shop—and matching the contributions.
