COO Masahiro Otake Speaks at Hattori Nutrition Collge on 10/28
On Oct 28, COO Mahiro Otake spoke to 170 students at Hattori Nutrition School. Otake spoke at three 90-minute classes about food banking.
First, Otake showed a TV show, Dawn of Gaia, which featured Second Harvest Japan (2HJ) in 2007, and spoke about 2HJ’s food banking, food waste, and the poverty in Japan. In Q&A time, students asked many questions. Some students showed interests in volunteering at 2HJ’s soup-kitchen program. We hope this opportunity opened their eyes about food waste and poverty issues.
